Co Founder IIT Kanpur (2012)
Chintalagiri Shashank received his M.Sc. (Intg) degree from the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2012. During his 7 year stay on campus, he worked on a wide variety of technologies and delivered a number of lectures and workshops in the fields of electronics, robotics, and open source software, and for 3 years led the Systems Engineering effort for IIT Kanpur’s nanosatellite, Jugnu. He has since been working with a variety of start-ups and small companies to develop what he calls a technological ecosystem in India. His involvement with Quazar Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi has him working on the design, development, and production of high end research-grade instrumentation which have traditionally been imported by Indian universities, institutes, and research centres – at many multiples of the cost. He has collaborated with other start-ups involved in the local design and manufacture of consumer electronics, lighting solutions, as well as indigenously developed healthcare devices. He also authors a nascent open source framework intended to streamline engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and administrative tasks in the high-tech design and development processes with open-source tools.
